Reflection

"There are people in this world who base their happiness and success on how deep their pockets are, how much they have saved, and what name brand item they can purchase. Just remember that at the end of the day, no amount of money will beautify your soul, your once deep pockets will be empty when you die, and your real success lies in how you made people feel, not what clothing brand you wore or car you drove.

Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) stated, "The two feet of the son of Adam will not move on the Day of Judgment in front of his Lord until he is asked about five things: about his life, and how he spent it? And about his youth, what did he consume it in? And about his money, how did he earn it? And what did he spend it on? And how much did he act upon what he knew?"

Did you notice that out of these five questions, two deal with money?

We live in a society full of people who always want more. Let's take a step back and remember our purpose in life. In all this hustle and bustle, don't lose your humanity. True happiness and success are the moments you have with your mother laughing at your goofy anecdotes, your son taking his first steps, your sleep-deprived roommate baking you a birthday cake. No amount of money can replace such moments. Money comes and money goes. Don't let it consume your heart and soul."
